Small-scale • Health-first breeder

Ball pythons raised slow, healthy, and honestly.

Green Leaf Reptiles is a small North Carolina collection built around a few quality projects — Pied, Enchi, GHI Mojave, and Desert Ghost. No mass production. Every animal is quarantined, feeding well, and tracked from day one.

Foundation animals

The animals below are the core of our collection. The photos are representative images of each morph type — not photos of the individual animals — so you can see the look and pattern we’re working with. Ask us for current photos of the actual animal anytime.

How we keep them

Small collection, serious standards

Ball python enclosure setup with hides and water bowl

Quarantine isn’t optional

Every new arrival lives separately, on paper towel at first, with its own tools. We watch for mites, check sheds, and don’t rush introductions — even when an animal looks perfect on arrival.

  • Separate quarantine space & dedicated tongs/tools per animal
  • Mite checks on arrival and weekly during quarantine
  • No breeding or co-mingling until quarantine is fully clear

What “healthy” means here

Clear eyes, clean vent, strong feeding response, complete sheds, and steady weight. If something looks off, we pause, treat, and get a vet involved — we don’t pass problems along.

  • Weight & feed log for every animal, every week
  • Only animals eating F/T consistently are offered for sale
  • Honest genetics — hets listed only when proven or from trusted pairings
  • Lifetime support: if you have a care question, ask us first
Our promise: We’d rather hold an animal back an extra month than send it out not ready. Health always beats a sale date.

Not just ball pythons

The personal collection goes beyond the breeding projects. Alongside the ball pythons, we also keep a red Argentine Tegu, a bearded dragon, and a trio of geckos — pets, not breeding stock, and held to the same care standards as everything else here.

Hot spot88–92°F

Belly heat on a thermostat. Never unregulated heat — always probe-checked.

Cool side75–80°F

Room to thermoregulate. Two hides minimum — one warm, one cool.

Humidity50–60%

Bump to ~70% in shed. Large water bowl helps more than misting alone.

Prey ~10–15% of body weight for juveniles. F/T, offered in the evening.

Breeding direction

Projects we’re building toward

We’re still growing out our foundation females — no rushed pairings. Here’s where the collection is headed.

🐍 Pied combinations

Building on our Pied female — looking toward clean, high-white Pied combos with strong contrast and solid feeding genes.

🌿 Desert Ghost

Our GHI Mojave Het DG male is paired with a GHI Het Hypo female — stacking GHI on both sides while working toward Desert Ghost, with Hypo in the mix. DG cleans up pattern and colour with age — worth the long game.

✦ GHI Mojave combos

GHI Mojave for darkness and drama — paired thoughtfully in future seasons for high-contrast, mid-to-dark tone combos.

🤍 Super Lesser pairings

Our Super Lesser male goes to two females — a Lesser Yellowbelly and a Bamboo. All three sit in the BEL complex, so we’re aiming for bright whites and soft, clean Lesser combos.

🔥 Clown project

A visual-to-visual Clown pairing: our Disco Inferno Clown male to a Fire Clown female. Every baby will be a visual Clown, with Fire and Disco Inferno brightening the pattern and colour.

Questions

Before you ask

Yes — via FedEx Priority Overnight through a reptile shipper, weather permitting (typically 40–90°F at both ends). Local pickup in North Carolina can also be arranged. Every shipment is packed with insulation, heat/cold pack as needed, and a deli cup with secure lid.
We start hatchlings on appropriately sized frozen-thawed rodents and don’t list an animal until it has taken at least 3–4 consecutive F/T meals unassisted. You’ll get its full feed card with it.
Sex is probed/popped and guaranteed. Visual morphs are guaranteed as photographed. Hets are guaranteed only when stated as 100% het from a visual × het/visual pairing — we’ll always show you the pairing.
Absolutely — just ask. We’re happy to send fresh photos, a handling video, and the animal’s feed/weight log before you commit.
A juvenile does well in a 20–40 gallon equivalent tub/enclosure, adults in a 4×2×2 ft enclosure. Bigger is fine if you fill it with hides and clutter — open space stresses ball pythons more than a snug hide does.

Questions about an animal, a project, or care?

We answer every message ourselves — usually the same day. Tell us what you’re keeping now and what you’re looking for, and we’ll point you the right way even if we don’t have it.
